Library larks

HELLO – welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg…

A LOT is going on.

We were delighted to receive some extra action shots from our visit to the new Shenfield Library in Essex.. showing some of the ace library workers and supporters who helped make our storytime sessions super enjoyable. Thanks again to everyone involved and, of course, to Essex Libraries.

You know we also love to receive pictures from YOU .. of yourselves or of YOUR tortoises and turtles…  We heard from one tortoise wrangler who was kind enough to say their grandaughter LOVES our ALBERT books and they were being used to help her knowledge of tortoises – as she would likely inherit a certain Sinbad! .. Amazing.

We had a quick visit to one of our local bookshops – Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford, Waltham Forest, East London ..  to sign a fresh batch of ALBERT books. We are truly grateful for the support this shop shows. REMINDER…. We will be at Jo’s Bookshop on Saturday March 29 from 11am with a special book launch storytime marking publication of new Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook THE RACE.. out on March 12. We hope to see some of you there.

We were delighted to hear from a nursery school in the Eastbourne area in East Sussex – about how they had turned ALBERT SUPERSIZE into a mini play. We are due to visit the nursery in May and we can’t wait to see for ourselves.

Then – appropriately as we write all this on St David’s Day… it was time to head to Wales and to the Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival…  What a blast it was. Storytime sessions with our ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books at four super libraries.. Pencoed, Pyle, Aberkenfig and Bridgend. Supersize thanks, diolch to all involved. Packed events .. with some great interaction. Special thanks to Awen Libraries and to all the librarians. Here are just some of the snaps from two days of great fun.

… and it was great afterwards to hear from some of those who attended say how much they enjoyed it all… and to see some extra pictures…

The Bridgend festival was during the late Welsh half term….  Now it’s back to school for us as well.. as March 6 sees World Book Day and we are super busy heading into a lot of schools all over the place. IF you happen to dress as an ALBERT .. we’d love to see a picture…

We really are all over ther place in coming weeks and months – not just marking World Book Day…  A little reminder we will be part of the Curious Minds festival on Wednesday April 19 with Script Haven bookshop in Worcester.

Remember the NEW Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook THE RACE is out on March 12…  you can garb your copy at our H n B shop on this website or from other online sites .. or ask at your local bookshop.

Much more news from us soon… Thanks again to everyone who supports us.

Til next time….
