ALBERT’S BACK

HELLO and welcome to the latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

Loads going on.. and the BIG news is real ALBERT is Back…  He has awoken from his winter sleep and is back with us. Temperatures rose sharply and he was ready to get up. He needs a bit of TLC for a while.. He’s had his first bath and he’s being tempted with food …  It is great to have him back. It’s like a little miracle every year and we are delighted to see him.

In a timely way we had a smashing new Review for ALBERT picturebook ALBERT AND THE THIEF – with the heading Albert’s back…

Describing the book as LOVELY and BEAUTIFUL.. it’s great 5* feedback. Please keep posting your reviews.

There was more praise too in our facebook comments … letting us know that an 18-month-old LOVES the ALBERT books. And that the evening’s reading was ALBERT SUPERSIZE…

And yet more praise… via Facebook… this time for ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN..

Describing the book as FABULOUS, CUTEST.. and apparently a handy way to get little ones into tortoises for a future role as real tortoise wranglers. Thank you for the amazing comments and Reviews we receive.

We had even more cause to be thankful when we had a double Review and recommendation from Libraries4Schools. They picked out ALBERT AND THE FLOOD and ALBERT AND THE THIEF.

Making them choice reads, they described them saying GENTLE STORIES, IDEAL FOR SHARING WITH YOUNG CHILDREN WHO WILL BE ENTRANCED …  Thank you for such warm words.

Then, all of a sudden it was World Book Day… We spent the days on and around the celebration at schools. First we headed to Cobham in Surrey and St Matthew’s school. Great storytime sessions with our ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks. Thanks to everyone involved at the school.

Then, to Luton in Bedfordshire and to Dallow Primary. Great storytime, workshop and we won an award for Hugg ‘n’ Bugg FINDING HOME.. and were delighted to hand out prizes to winners in the school Book Day costume contest. Big thanks to all at Dallow Primary.

Then to Watford and Leavesden Green JMI .. a return visit for us. Four fab storytime sessions .. book signing and someone’s name in lights! .. Thanks to everyone involved.

Book Day saw more ALBERTs – we love it when people dress as Albert. We were thrilled to receive these pictures..  complete with a copy of ALBERT AND THE POND and pet tortoise Tilly.

It is publication day for the 4th Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook THE RACE on March 12 and we were thrilled to receive our advance copies of the book.

We were delighted to gift two copies – as we always do – to our local library. Please support libraries – great local assets.

Get your running shoes on and rush out and grab a copy of the rhyming comical tale…

Here’s a note for the diary… BRENTWOOD, ESSEX… we will be at Waterstones bookshop in Brentwood on Saturday April 26 from 11am with ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime… Storytelling, tortoises, yetis, dinosaurs and giveaways.

Busy times continue here… Please keep sharing YOUR pictures and Reviews and Comments. We are very grateful for all the support we are shown.

Thank you all.

Til next time…
