Lots going on.. Let’s go…
You know we love to get out and about with our books .. We had a super return visit to brilliant alphablocks nursery and pre-prep school in Hadley Wood, Hertfordshire. Three storytime sessions across their two sites with some brilliant responses.
We were delighted to receive some lovely praise as well… and some great artwork and Thank you notes too from the children. Supersize Thanks to all involved.
We were also thrilled to be invited to help shell-ebrate the opening of the NEW Shenfield Library in Essex with Essex Library Service and the Shenfiled Library Supporters. Three storytime sessions on a Saturday morning.. packed. It was wonderful to see such a great new facility busy and to be part of the celebrations. Some excellent response to the stories and also some brilliant tortoise-themed crafting and artwork. Massive Thanks to everyone involved .. Please do support YOUR libraries. They are great local assets.
We have LOADS of ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg storytime sessions upcoming .. as World Book Day looms on March 6.
Our next stop will be at the Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival in Wales on February 27 and 28. Over the two days we will be at Pencoed, Pyle, Aberkenfig and Bridgend libraries with awen libraries for the late Welsh half-term. Please remember – 5 of our ALBERT picturebooks are available in Welsh as are 2 of our Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks.
Many school visits lined up around World Book Day.. One school has started early with a special display about Albert ahead of our storytime visit… We look forward to meeting all the young readers soon…
Our Book Day events are taking us far and wide.. Surrey, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Worcestershire, Hampshire .. and East Sussex thanks to a super comment on our ALBERT facebook page from a Nursery school deputy head teacher… She was kind enough to say THANK YOU FOR CREATING SUCH FUN BOOKS… We will be visiting this Nursery soon along with other schools in the area.
Less than a week after Book Day we have Publication of our 4th Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook THE RACE… On your marks, get set for a comical rhyming story with the messy hairy snowman and his friendly flea as Hugg is challenged to a race by the snow leopards. Life lessons and fun galore .. Out on March 12 but you can order NOW here on our Hugg ‘n’ Bugg shop page and from Online sites.
Marking the launch of Hugg ‘n’ Bugg THE RACE, we will be at our local bookshop Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford on Saturday March 29 from 11am with a special storytime. Make a date in your diary..
In other updates…. Our Trailer for an animated TV series of ALBERT based on our books was shown at the kidscreen summit in San Diego. Leading lights from TV companies, streaming services, distributors took a look. We will keep you posted on all that is going on with animated Albert.
Please remember… if you Dress Up as ALBERT for World Book Day .. we’d love to see a picture. It is ALL about the books and reading .. but we know some of you dress up. Here is some inspo from previous Book Day Alberts.
Some more Dates for the Diary…
On Saturday March 22 from 2pm we will be at Waterstones Bookshop in Norwich with our ALBERT the tortoise, Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime malarkey… before visiting schools in the area.
… and on Wednesday April 16 we will be part of the Curious Minds Festival in Worcester working with Bookmark Reading Charity and Script Haven bookshop.
