Busy times

HELLO – and welcome to the latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

We know we always say we are busy.. Well, we have been SO busy of late that we have not even had time to tell you how busy we have been…

Here is all that we have been up to…

Firstly a LOT of school visits… Working in association with Bookmark Reading Charity. We have had such fun bringing our ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg storytime events to hundreds of schoolchildren. We hope we encourage them to read, to think about being creative and the importance to be resilient and to persevere.

We visited Bangabandhu primary in Bethnal Green east London…

Then we haded North…

First to Kearsely West primary in Bolton..

Then to St Matthews primary in Preston..

Then to Pye Bank primary in Sheffield..

Massive thanks to everyone involved at Bookmark and at all the schools. Especially the pupils.

In between all that.. it was Independent Bookshop week…

We always salute Indie Bookshops – especially those we have had recent visits to or events with..

Thanks to all the booksellers

We were delighted to take part in a couple of local Indie bookshop events…

We had a fab time at Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford.. thanks all..

And we also had fun at V and A Books and Gifts in Highams Park

Thanks to all who support us.

We also had a grand time at a local commuinty library in South Chingford. Our ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg storytime had a lovely response. Thanks to everyone at the library and who came along.

We have a busy time with Libraries ahead .. as the Summer Reading Challenge for the long school break coming up has the theme Story Garden… Many libraries have thought that ALBERT and his garden pals fit this idea well…

So, we are off to Cardiff, Wales to visit Pen Y Lan Library and Ely and Caerau Hub over July 8 and 9 meeting lots of local schoolchildren and sharing our ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg stories.

Then we shall be on a mini tour of Hertfordshire Libraries….

We will be at Tring Library and Berkhamsted Library on July 29 .. and at Ware Library and Hertford Library on July 31. We are helping celebrate Herts Libraries Centenary as well.

Please visit the Herts Libraries website to book your spot.

We had a grand time on a return visit to Oakmere Library in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire.. our childhood library.

Thanks to everyone there and all who came along.

We’re thrilled with a load of New graphics on our pages on THAT shopping site… featuring quotes and praise from bloggers and reviewers…

Thanks to everyone who has said nice things about all our books…

See, we told you it had been busy.

We will have more news soon.. til next time..
