HELLO – and welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.
We have been busy…
We were delighted to be asked to install a mini display of ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books and images at our local library. On Saturday May 10 we will be there taking part in Library Day with a stall and storytime sessions.
Then we were off to Walthamstow Library for their school holidays event.. Springtime Festival. It was a pleasure to gift the libary two copies of new Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook The Race – joining our other titles already gifted there.. and to hold several story time sessions with our Hugg ‘n’ Bugg and Albert books. We also met some dignitaries… local Councillor Rosalind Dore (who has special responsibility for libraries) and a certain Easter Bunny – who mainly has responsibility over chocolate eggs, we believe.
You know we love to receive feedback .. from humans, tortoises, turtles – and all other animals. We have in the past heard from guinea pigs, dogs.. and some cats. And now we have heard from a certain Paddy-Paws. Apparently, they have read SIX Albert books and liked them a lot. Thank you to Paddy-Paws.
Then we were off to Worcester .. to take part in the Curious Minds Children’s Literary Festival with Script Haven bookshop. Fab storytime sessions and we say a supersize thanks to the bookselling team, all who came along – and to Bookmark Reading Charity who supported the event. Of course, there was some posing with a dinosaur.
Our next storytime event will be on Saturday April 26 from 11am at Waterstones bookshop in Brentwood, Essex… There will be storytelling, tortoises, yetis, dinosaurs and giveaways…
Finally for now – we wish all those celebrating a Happy Easter and we wish all a super holiday weekend.
Much more news soon… Thank you as ever for all the support you show us. Til next time…
