ALBERT On Tour, On Radio, In Blogs, In Shops

HELLO – The latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and we are keeping busy on so many levels. (That doesn’t mean we’re in a lift / elevator) ..

BIG thanks to lovely Georgy Jamieson at BBC Radio Suffolk who invited us on to the afternoon show this week (she was sitting in for Lesley Dolphin) and let us chat about real Albert (as always) and the picturebooks and our latest visit to Suffolk.. to go to Bury St Edmunds.. See below for more details of that.

A great chat .. Thanks to Georgy and producer Johnnie for their help and support.

Next up we headed to Suffolk and to Bury St Edmunds to the Butter Market branch of bookshop Waterstone’s. We signed a stack of Albert books and did a great storytime session. Thanks to manager Becky and the team at the shop. All support is much appreciated. It seems Albert Supersize is the Number 4 best-selling picturebook in the store. No mean feat.

By visiting Bury St Edmunds, it means our tour of Waterstone’s branches is becoming a bit Supersize itself… So far we have done book signing or storytime or other events at branches in Walthamstow East London, Barnet Hertfordshire, St Albans Hertfordshire, Deansgate and Arndale Manchester, Truro Cornwall, Chelmsford Essex, Bluewater Kent, Lakeside Essex, Enfield Middlesex.

In coming weeks we are due to do storytimes at Bishops Stortford branch and to return to Truro in Cornwall. AND we are waiting to sort other dates too.

We hardly had time to catch our breath when an amazing Review for ALBERT SUPERSIZE landed from book blogger The Strawberry Post. It has blown our minds. And it is much appreciated.

Please keep posting YOUR Reviews. We love to see them.

The Praise here is incredible… starting with the tweet that announced it…

Finally, for now, a volatile week in British Politics.. And, despite some appeals for a steady, thoughtful approach ALBERT the tortoise declined to stand for power. However, many said they would Vote for Albert if he changed his mind.. You never know…

As we keep saying.. lots going on. And there really is. Thank you to everyone for all the support. It is much appreciated.

More Albert news soon…

Til next time..
