HELLO – Lots more news from Albert HQ. Let’s get stuck in..
We have continued to do some lovely school visits.
We had a little update with some new pictures from a previous visit at FAIRLOP PRIMARY SCHOOL.. The wrangler bloke signing books for the children. The school was lovely enough to say the children were “mesmerised”. We hope in a good way. It is great to get such feedback. And it’s great to be visiting so many schools to talk about real Albert, other tortoises and turtles and to read the picturebooks like ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and ALBERT AND THE WIND.
In the past week we visited Sydney Russell Primary in Dagenham. Another great visit. Thanks to all involved.
Then we were invited into Priors Wood Primary school in Ware in Hertfordshire. Another great school with top pupils who had some good questions to ask.
Meanwhile this week, Albert has been on his international travels.. in a way. Thanks to publishers Graffeg having a stand at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair where the Albert picturebooks were on display and up for deals.
Bologna is very important in the industry and it was great to have our first showing there. Very exciting.
Our school visits go on and in May we are heading to the Manchester area. Seems the children at one school could not wait. They have got stuck into ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN already. Thanks to Brabyn’s Prep School for sharing a glimpse of their project based around the Albert book. We can’t wait to see it properly and to meet the children. Excellent work!!
Also this week we’ve been looking ahead to other things.. including, of course, the launch of the paperback version of the new Albert book ALBERT SUPERSIZE.. Lots of radio interviews and other publicity is being lined up. Very exciting. Fortunately our window display at the local library is still looking good too. Not too sure about wrangler bloke standing outside.
In other news – yes, more… we’ve been asked by Waterstone’s bookshop in St Albans Hertfordshire to do a reading on April 4 and 10am .. Do come along and meet the author bloke and hear an Albert story if you can. Books will be signed too.
Told you we were busy.
More news soon. Til next time…
