HELLO – What a week.. it’s so busy here at Albert HQ .. not least because real Albert is back in the land of the awake after his long winter sleep.
He woke a week ago and it has been a very special welcome back for him, indeed… We can’t wait to share all the news with you.
We had more amazing school visits ..
First was Fairlop Primary School in Hainault. We met such wonderful pupils and saw their fantastic library.. where the Albert picturebooks ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and ALBERT AND THE WIND have already been given a wonderful welcome.. Now they are making room for Book 3 – ALBERT SUPERSIZE. A return visit to the school is already being planned.
Thanks to all at Fairlop for a great time talking about real Albert, the books, writing and the joy of words.
Next we went to Alphablocks Nursery and Pre-Prep at Hadley Wood.. and had a great time too. We read ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and met some very young fans. To our suprise they had made a couple of Thank you cards – with their own drawing of Albert.. they had done some Reviews of the book and had prepared a takeaway salad box for real Albert – learning about chopping salad and veg.
Thanks to all at Alphablocks for a lovely visit. And big Thanks from Albert for his salad and the cards. Again – looks like a return might be on the cards.
Another special part of Albert’s wake-up this week was the arrival of the first translation books in the Albert picturebook series. ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and ALBERT AND THE WIND have been translated into Welsh.. Albert was VERY keen to strike an appropriate pose… Pointing at the books…
Diolch to all involved for these lovely books. Hopefully MANY Translations will follow in all sorts of languages.
