HELLO – welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.
With just a few days to go to official publication of our new ALBERT book – our first Festive ALBERT picture book : ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS.. we are keeping busy.
First off, we were delighted to hear from Abercynon Primary school in Wales… and to see our books being enjoyed by pupils. Please keep sharing YOUR pictures with our books. Thanks to Miss Parfitt.
We were delighted to visit Normanhurst Prep school in North Chingford for a couple of excellent storytime sessions.

We kept ourselves busy in Chingford as early copies of the new book had landed at our great supporter.. Jo’s Bookshop in Station Road, North Chingford.
Along with a stack of fresh copies of other titles. .. We were delighted to get stuck in and sign the fresh books.

As you know, we like to support libraries when we can. So, we were delighted to drop signed copies of ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS into a few of our local libraries across Waltham Forest…

and Walthamstow Library …
Once logged in, they will be available to loan along with other titles previously gifted.
Next.. we headed to Wales. We are pleased to say work is going on (sort of behind the scenes) on a 3D CGI animated TV series of ALBERT. We have already shared our Trailer for the animated version of our favourite tortoise.
This week we had some very exciting meetings in Cardiff that could move animated ALBERT on in quite a big way. We will most certainly share news when efforts progress further.
While in Cardiff..we headed to Waterstone’s bookshop.. and early copies of ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS had landed there too… joining other titles in English and Welsh on their shelves.
We were delighted to sign all their books.
Our signing pens had a good workout too at our Cardiff-based publishers Graffeg Books…. We went in and signed a LOT of copies of ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS…
On our return we were pleased to gift copies of ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS to our old childhood library – Oakmere Library in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. Once logged in, they will join other ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books previously gifted.
The new book officially launches on October 1… and we are shouting about it on the Radio…
We were delighted this week to join Behnaz Akhgar on BBC Radio Wales to talk all things real Albert, all the books he has inspired, his big winter sleep and the new book… Supersize thanks to all at Radio Wales.
On Publication day – October 1 .. next week we are set to chat with Julie Skentelbery on BBC Radio Cornwall. We can’t wait…
