Thanks all round

HELLO – and welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

So. Much. Going. On…

We headed to Norwich in Norfolk. Our first stop was the Waterstone’s bookshop in the city for a super ALBERT the tortoise, Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime.

There was a super turn out – a great audience of all sizes. Special thanks to all the booksellers at the shop and to all who came along.

The super booksellers at Norwich Waterstones also supervised a grand tour of infant and primary schools in the area. Brilliant storytelling events talking about real Albert, yetis, making books happen, writing, illustration and meeting hundreds of new fans. Supersize thanks to all involved at Drayton Community Infants school, Hethersett VC Primary school, Hethersett Woodside Primary school and Heather Avenue Infant school. And, of course, big big thanks to the Waterstones team.

On our return to ALBERT HQ we had a super surprise…. a collection of hand-written Thank You letters from pupils at St Matthew’s Infant school in Cobham, Surrey – where we visited during the week of World Book Day in the first week of March.

Wow! – Super letters and super writing … with some lovely comments… Thank you from us to all the writers. Some notes even had bonus drawings.

Our next bookshop event is SATURDAY MARCH 29 from 11am at Jo’s Bookshop, north Chingford. We’ll be marking the launch of the latest Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook THE RACE, especially.. BUT there will be ALBERT tales and other treats too… Storytelling, tortoises, yetis, dinosaurs and giveaways…

After that – we’re heading to the Farnham and Hook area to team with Blue Bear bookshop in Hartley Wintney for a shop event and multiple school events with our ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books. We are looking forward to it.

On Tuesday April 8 from 3:30pm we will be at Walthamstow Library with ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime as part of their Spring Family Event for Waltham Forest Libraries.

Then … for the diary.. Wednesday April 16 we’re at Script Haven bookshop in Worcester for the Curious Minds children’s literature festival.

And, on Saturday April 26 from 11am we will be at Waterstones bookshop, Brentwood for more storytime fun.

We said there was a lot going on.

Thank you all round for all the support. We are most grateful.

Til next time…
