MAKE A DATE

HELLO and welcome to the very latest from ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

A LOT is going on .. so we will get on with our update… and let you know some of our upcoming events for your diaries…

You might recall we were going to be part of our local Library Day .. an arts and crafts event around our local library as part of a local Art Trail. We did it. And it went very nicely. We had a stall and introduced our ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books to a lot of people and we held a fab storytime, reading three stories to a large group. Thanks to the organisers and to everyone involved. Please do support YOUR local library – they are great local assets.

Next we were off to Wales.. to Pontypridd and to St Michael’s RC Primary School – where we had a brilliant visit sharing storytime sessions and signing books for pupils – and staff. We also handed out colouring sheets and stickers. The children are continuing to use our books to study animals, garden bugs, life cycles and much more. Thank you to everyone involved there too.

The school is sharing extra images with us – showing the work the children are doing..  As you know we love it when you share pictures with us..  And we were thrilled to receive this picture from America of a new young reader and puzzler with their copy of picturebook ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and Activity Book ALBERT PUZZLES AND COLOURING. Please keep sharing your pictures with us.

More pictures of our books were sent in.. this time from a bookshop…  Waterstone’s bookshop in Bluewater shopping centre, Greenhithe, Kent to be precise. An eagle-eyed fan spotted ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books on display and sent us some pictures…  we always love to see our books out “in the wild”.

For your DIARY…

We have a nice booking approaching on June 8 when we will return to Lansdowne Primary School in Tilbury, Essex… we will be reading stories and talking to pupils about writing and books. On Saturday June 15 we will be getting busy for Independent Bookshop Week with a storytime session at one of our local bookshops – Jo’s Bookshop in North Chingford. We’ll be there from 11am reading stories, meeting customers and signing books – with giveaways. We’re regular visitors at Jo’s and we thank them for all their support. Please support YOUR local indie bookshops!
