HELLO –
Greetings from all at ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.
It’s not been the best weather for real Albert. Since he emerged from hibernation / brumation the weather has been all over the place. BUT we think it might start to warm up properly this week. So, hopefully, Albert can get into more of a routine with eating and other vital tortoise duties round the garden. That said, he’s on pretty good form and is having regular baths and feeds. And supervising all sorts of other Albert essential work obviously.
We did our Easter Sunday interview with lovely Lorna Prichard for BBC Radio Wales. Thanks to all involved for a great chat about Albert, our picturebooks, Hugg n Bugg and some telly too.
Part of our chat was about us coming to Merthyr Tydfil Children’s Literature Festival on Thursday April 20. We’ll be there with Albert and Hugg n Bugg picturebook storytime events across three sessions. We hope we might see some of you there.
The theme of the Festival is Shakespeare.. The Bard does mention tortoises and turtles in his works .. in The Tempest and in Romeo and Juliet.
Also, we’ve been sorting Tudor accessories… Especially for our T Rex friend who helps us tell the ALBERT SUPERSIZE story – when Albert meets dinosaurs in his dreams.
We think T Rex looks quite good in Tudor fashion..
Closer to home, we were delighted to pop into Jo’s Bookshop, Chingford and top up stocks of signed Albert and Hugg n Bugg books.
Thanks to all at the shop.
As you know – we love to receive Book reviews for all our titles. We were thrilled to receive a lovely new Review for ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN. Please do keep posting YOUR Reviews.
Thank you – as ever – for all the support you give us. More news here as it happens…
Til next time.
