Hello – here is the very latest news from ALBERT HQ.. And there is a lot to let you know.
We have been very busy marking Children’s Book Week.
It started with a chat on BBC Radio Northampton with Bernie Keith. He used to have his own tortoise. So the chat was very detailed.
It is always lovely talking with Bernie and we were thrilled to focus on the Book Week and our new Albert picturebook ALBERT SUPERSIZE.
Thanks to producer Sarah and Bernie.
Our main efforts this week have been a SUPERSIZE tour of Waltham Forest Libraries around East London to talk about Albert and to read the picturebooks.
Thanks to everyone involved and to all those that came along to listen and to chat with us about Albert, reading, writing and the books.
It was great visiting so many lovely libraries. PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL LIBRARIES – GREAT LOCAL ASSETS.
In just FIVE DAYS we visited SEVEN libraries and read Albert stories around 25 times to more than 100 people of all ages.
Here are some pictures of what went on .. we aren’t allowed to show many of the children that came along. So the wrangler bloke is the main image… Sorry.
Here we are at libraries at Hale End in Highams Park, Lea Bridge, Leytonstone, Wood Street, Walthamstow, Higham Hill and Chingford.
We received an amazing 5* Review this week from a lovely book blogger… It was great and we always ask that you post reviews please.
We have also been busy at a local indie bookshop – Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford. We signed a stack of Albert books and we did a special reading and signing there as well.
MASSIVE thanks to Jo and all at the shop for their support.. we will be doing another event at the shop in the very near future .. Keep an eye out on our social medias.
That has been a busy week. We are delighted to meet so many people and talk about Albert and the books to them.
In the coming week we are visiting even more bookshops, schools and more… watch this space.
Thank you as ever for all the support you offer us.
Til next time…
