HELLO – welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.
Lots going on. So, we are diving straight in…
Our summer school holidays events continued ..
We headed to Romford in Essex and to Waterstone’s bookshop in the Liberty shopping mall there for an ALBERT & Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime.
It was great! And we want to say supersize thanks to all those who came along and to the bookselling team – and the cafe team too!
There was time to introduce our T Rex – who helps wiht our ALBERT SUPERSIZE story – and Hugg to an amazing wooly mammoth display in the Liberty centre. No easy tusk – but we did out specially for the pose!
Before we left .. we handed over one of our stunt double Albert lookalikes – made from a coconut. Very quickly – he and two of our books were living their best life in the shop window display.
Our next event took us to near Great Dunmow in Essex and to the lovely setting of the restored Easton Lodge Gardens. Several storytime events and a book stall proved a busy time for ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg. Huge thanks to the organisers and to the amazing team who look after the Gardens and who looked after us.
Our books have been on the receiving end of some lovely feedback recently. Book blogger Fallen Star Stories (aka Mary Esther Judy) hailed ALBERT AND THE FLOOD piscturebook as EXCITING and FUN-FILLED, FANTASTIC .. Thank you.
Then we received another Review for picturebook ALBERT AND THE THIEF – which officially publishes on September 10 .. but can already be found online and in shops.
Here, book blogger BookRead2Day said of the new addition to the ALBERT series… ADORABLE, BEAUTIFUL, ALL PARENTS SHOULD BUY… Thank you so much.
Then we heard from a school .. super keen for their Early Year students to get stuck into ALBERT AND THE THIEF.. Thanks to Bentley Heath school. Much appreciated.
More holiday events soon…
We are heading to Swansea in association with Swansea Libraries…
On Tuesday August 27 we will be holding ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks stortime events at Gowerton – in the morning… and at Townhill in the afternoon.
We will also be havinbg a book stall along with all the fun of stroyelling, tortoises, yetis, dinsoaurs and giveaways…
As we said.. busy times.. And things really liven up soon when the schools go back across the UK. In coming weeks we will be working with several indie bookshops and we will be visiting schools in Wales, Essex and more… plus Libraries in Surrey.
Thank you to YOU for all the support you show us.
Til next time…
