You know we love to see YOU or your tortoises and turtles posing with our goodies. We were thrilled to receive these snaps from a tortoise pal of real Albert .. posing a storm with their copy of picturebook ALBERT AND THE POND. As we tend to say… stuPONDous!

We also really appreciate it, as you might imagine, when bookshops sing our praises … and even set up some amazing pictures to help promote our books. Like these great Posts from Browsers bookshop in Porthmadog, Wales. Thanks so much to Sian there for going to this amazing effort. We love the model tortoise .. and all the props. We are now plotting with Browsers (a super indie bookshop) to put together some school and nursery events later in the year in the Porthmadog area – and at the shop itself. Watch this space.. and if you are part of a school there please get in touch.
From plotting a first-time visit to a bookshop to our latest return to Waterstones bookshop in the Bluewater shopping centre, Greenhithe, Kent. Delighted to swing by and sign fresh stock of ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks including HnB THE SURPRISE. Thanks to the booksellers for all their support there.
Another return visit this week was to Lansdowne Primary Academy school in Tilbury, Essex. We were there around this time last year and it was a thrill to be asked back. An ace ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime with more than 250 pupils – and staff. Great to see so many interested in books and reading – and their own writing. Supersize thanks to all involved. We hope to visit again before too long.
Meanwhile, back at base, real ALBERT has been posing – and checking out our new releases for June. On June 11 we officially publish picturebook No 7 – ALBERT AND THE FLOOD. You can Order Now. Heavy rain halts the Garden Games kickstarting a race to find safety for Albert and his friends.
Then, on June 18, comes official publication of our second Board Book ALBERT ABC – which joins ALBERT and his Friends. Easy-wipe pages with bright, colourful pages take young readers on a journey through the Alphabet with Albert and his picturebook chums .. aimed at 0-3 years. You can Order Now..
Albert seems to approve of the latest books he inspires. Something to SHELlebrate.
We also made a dash this week to local indie bookshop – Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford. We signed fresh stock of Albert and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books ahead of our event there on SATURDAY JUNE 15 from 11am to launch Indie Bookshop Week. There will be storytelling, book signing, tortoises, yetis, dinosaurs and giveaways.
