AWAYDAYS & AWARDS

HELLO –

Lots occurring at ALBERT HQ…  It has turned cold again here and so no sign currently of real Albert waking from his sleep.

No rest on other matters though…

We have had a great series of events surrounding World Book Day on March 2 and we posted about some in our previous update.

Following on..  we were delighted to make the cover of The Thornton Times, the newsletter of Thornton Primary School in Birmingham where we had a great Albert the tortoise & Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebooks storytime visit.

Thanks to everyone involved in that visit.

Our next school visit was to Myatt Garden primary school in Brockley south east London. A terrific visit with our ALBERT picturebooks and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg. Supersize thanks to all involved.

Other lovely news this week sees us being on the SHORTLIST for a prize judged by schoolchildren. Our picturebook ALBERT SUPERSIZE is in the running for an award from Cogan primary school in Wales. We have fingers and little claws crossed. Thanks and Diolch to all at the school.

Book Day was made extra special by what children created with our books and characters as a starting point. We were thrilled to see our first Albert costume at Bramingham Primary in Luton, Bedfordshire .. and it was great to receive a wonderful version of the cover art for picturebook ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN. Hoorah to all those who got creative with Albert in mind.

More school visits coming and we are also returning to bookshops, too.

On Saturday March 18 from 11am we will be at Jo’s Bookshop in North Chingford, E4 for a Hugg ‘n’ Bugg storytime event – with some Albert too. Yetis, dinosaurs, tortoises and giveaways plus book signings.
