BACK TO SCHOOL (and bookshops)

HELLO – latest news from Albert HQ and we’re preparing for some record breaking temperatures – possibly. Keeping a close watch on real Albert through this UK heatwave that might tip 38c.

We’re keeping busy though..

We were delighted to be invited back to Bernards Heath Infants School in St Albans, Hertfordshire to talk to three classes in Year 2. The special request was for us to inspire some creative writing. So, using the Albert picturebooks and the images in them as a springboard, we got to work.. and the pupils really rose to the occasion. Working against the clock, they came up with either a Start, a Middle or an End section of a story of their own based around an image from the next Albert picturebook ALBERT In the Air.

It was great fun to share their stories at the end. We want to say a big thanks to all involved and we hope there might be some more writing for us to see in due course. Well done to all. Of course, we also wish all at the school a great summer break.

As we were in St Albans we popped along to visit our chums and great supporters at Waterstones bookshop in the city. Pleased to say they keep selling out of Albert books. So, just a couple of weeks after us being their Picturebook of the Month selection.. there was a stack of new books to sign. We even managed to sell a few books while we were in the shop. Thanks as ever to all the team in the branch. The support  is very much aprpeciated.

We’ve also lined up some Radio to talk about our next batch of Storytime sessions in Waterstones at Bluewater shopping centre and Maidstone in Kent. More on that soon.

Thanks to all for the continued support for all things Albert. More news soon.

Til next time…
