August 27 was official Publication Day for the 10th ALBERT picturebook ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT. Once again, inspired by real Albert but also by young readers. We meet a lot of children at our events in schools, libraries and bookshops. We were struck by the large number who confuse the meaning of the words HIBERNATION and NOCTURNAL. So, we set about a book that explains Nocturnal and introduces night time animals to readers.
As you might imagine, we have been doing a lot of promotional work for the new book. And that has included more BBC Radio interviews.
We were delighted to catch up with a fellow tortoise wrangler Julie Skentelbery on BBC Radio Cornwall. A super chat. Thanks to Julie and team.

As the “brand” of ALBERT grows (we’re pleased to say) we made up a new little logo featuring all 3 Alberts.. real Albert, book Albert and animated Albert. We rather like it.
“Grow” is the operative word at the moment for Albert .. or spread… As you might know, we already have Albert books translated into Welsh, Spanish, Maltese and Korean.. and, of course, our English books have been going down well all over the place.
Now, there has been a fresh interest in our books in Australia.. thanks to distributors there Peribo Books based in New South Wales.. and also thanks to the launch coming soon of our 9th picturebook ALBERT AND CHRISTMAS.
It is very exciting.
There are quite a few promotional things happening to help the books in Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania.. Podcasts and blogs…
It has all kickstarted an interest in the earlier titles…
