Albert spooks out

Hello and welcome to the very latest news from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our good friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg..

There has been a lot going on as we launched our latest picturebook ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT..  Here we go…

Starting in South Korea where our publisher there has been attending several book festivals and, as you know, we love to see the Korean versions of ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and ALBERT AND THE WIND on display…

On the subject of translations .. but a little closer to home.. We have been lucky enough to have a run of features with Welsh language influencers on insta and facebook with the Welsh versions of our books.

We are so pleased to receive such attention and some amazing praise for the Welsh books… (as you may know our publisher Graffeg Books are based in Wales in Cardiff)…

Big thanks and DIOLCH to all involved… It means a lot to us.

We have also been receiving more Praise from AUSTRALIA ..  from Little Squirrels Bookshelf book blogger.. for ALBERT SUPERSIZE. With comments like FABULOUSLY ENGAGING, SWEET and HEART-WARMING..  we are very happy indeed! Thank you!

We were also delighted to receive praise from another insta book blogger .. who also happens to be a teacher… This time for our new book ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT..

It’s a really lovely review that recommends the book for use in several ways in the classroom and at home…  Thank you very much.

We have a busy time coming up promoting the new book ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT..  We set off soon all over the UK visiting schools, libraries and bookshops…

On Saturday October 3 we are part of the Music Festival finale in Highams Park, Waltham Forest…  with storytime sessions set for 1:30pm and 2:30pm…

Also coming up is a tour of Waltham Forest Libraries… this will take in Walthamstow, Wood Street, North Chingford, Lea Bridge, Leyton, Leytonstone and Higham Hill… through November.. see each library for details…

It all kicks off on actual Hallowe’en October 31 at 11am at Hale End Library in Highams Park with a fancy dress (optional) storytime featuring our book ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT and other crafting and colouring malarkey.

We are lined up to install a LONG NIGHT window display at Hale End library as well…  we are very excited.

There will be more library action too in December…  On December 5 we will be at Oakmere Library in Potters Bar for a special sorytime and then on December 12 at Tring Library in Hertfordshire.. See each library for details and to book your spot.

Recently we were delighted to gift copies of LONG NIGHT to Oakmere Library – which was our author’s childhood library.

Another event for your diary.. Saturday October 10 is Independent Bookshop Day… we will be marking the event with Jo’s Bookshop in Station Road, Chingford from 11am .. with storytelling, giveaways and lots of malarkey.

The other big news we have is that real Albert has now bedded down for his long winter sleep… But not before we created a special Hallowe’en pose to shellebrate the new book ALBERT AND THE LONG NIGHT which is our sort of Hallowe’en book.. as it features night noises and night animals.

More from us soon… Thank you, as ever, for all the support you show us…

Best wishes.. til next time…
