FESTIVAL FUN

Hello – welcome to the very latest from ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

Lots to tell you.. No hanging around.

We have been on our travels. To Wales.. home of our publishesr Graffeg Books.

We were invited to be part of Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival with awen Libraries and Bridgend County Council.

Before we set off we had a great chat about the Festival and our events and other appearances with Behnaz Akhgar on BBC Radio Wales. Thanks all involved.

Our first ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg event was at Bryngarw House in Bryngarw Country Park. A magnificent setting and a magnificent turn out and event.

Thanks to all involved.

In a little gap between Festival events.. we headed to Waterstone’s Bookshop in Swansea for a super storytime event. Thanks to the booksellers and to those who came along. A grand event.

The very next day we were off to Waterstone’s bookshop in Carmarthen.. Thanks again to the super booksellers and to everyone who came along. A fun storytime.

Next our port of call was Porthcawl.. for our next Bridgend Festival storytime. Porthcawl Library played host .. thank you to the librarians and to those who came along.

Next we headed to Betws Life Centre and Betws Library. A super event .. lots of fun. Thanks to all involved.

Our final Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival event took us to Maesteg Library.. a grand finale in every sense. Thank you to the librarians and to all those that came along. Special mention for a “super fan” of Albert.. Archie. But, of course, Thanks to everyone.

A super fun festival .. Thank you to the organisers at awen Libraries. We were also pleased to gift ALBERT and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg boks in English and Welsh to the libraries at Porthcawl, Betws and Maesteg.

Meanwhile, we’ve been getting more Press.. another piece in South London Press. Thanks to Pauline Atkins who called our Hugg ‘n’ Bugg books ADORABLE. Brilliant!

Our diary is fast filling for the first half of the year. Of course, it’s World Book Day on March 7..  IF you might be dressing up as ALBERT or another of our characters.. we’d love to see pictures.

Here’s a reminder of some of the costumes in 2023.

As a result of Book Day we will soon be visiting a lot of schools and other locations.

Also .. On March 14 a new Hugg ‘n’ Bugg book launches. THE SURPRISE.. and we have some super radio chats coming up to talk about that and Albert, of course.

As ever, thanks you for all the support. It is very much appreciated.

More from us soon.. Til next time…
