Festiv-Albert Time!

HELLO and welcome to the latest from ALBERT the tortoise HQ with our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.

Lots going on – even if real Albert is asleep.

Like this.. You KNOW we love to receive images from you .. posing with our goodies or your tortoises or turtles with our goodies…  We received this amazing picture of a new friend of Albert posing with him on a screen. A grand picture we feel.

We were also delighted to receive the next image from fellow Graffeg author Jason Korsner who spotted the latest Albert picturebook ALBERT AND THE SHED in his local library. Brilliant.

We were very late to spot this great piece in FAMILIES North London Magazine featuring ALBERT AND THE POND and ALBERT SUPERSIZE. But we caught up at last. Thanks all involved.

We told you in our last post we were off on our travels again.. Up to the North East of England.. we went!

And we had a fab time in Darlington and Whitley Bay with the Northern Children’s Book Festival working with Darlington and Whitley Bay Libraries and North Tyneside Libraries.

First it was off to Skerne Park school in Darlington where we ran our ALBERT the tortoise and Hugg n Bugg picturebooks storytime. Thanks to everyone involved. We had a top time – and enjoyed meeting everyone and signing the library wall – to join some esteemed company like former Children’s Laureate Cressida Cowell. She drew a dragon (a Trained one probably) We drew a slightly naughty tortoise – called Albert.

Then we headed to High Coniscliffe school for another great session – again, thanks to everyone involved.

Then – before the day was out.. we had received some great art work from Skerne Park of drawings of ALBERT by the children we visited. Brilliant! Thank you everyone. We hope to see more work in due course.

Then we moved up to Whitley Bay – and our first session saw us with Coquet Park school. Thanks all involved at the school and Whitley Bay library.

Then we met children from Amberley Primary and South Wellfield primary. More great sessions and fun. Thank you everyone. We are looking forward to seeing stories and artwork.

Then we headed to Star of the Sea primary for another great event. Thank you again to all involved.

It was great to visit Darlington and Whitley Bay libraries – please support libraries where you can.

We say a supersize thank you to The Bound bookshop in Whitley Bay for supporting our events there with the NCBF.

And thanks also to DRAKE the bookshop in Stockton who supported us in Darlington.

We said a lot was going on..

Of course, it’s also Thanksgiving and we send special Best wishes to all our friends celebrating.

As a rescue tortoise adopted more than 50 years ago, real Albert has special cause to be thankful.

More news from us soon. Please keep posting YOUR Book Reviews and posting YOUR pictures with our goodies.

Thank you for all the support you show us.

Til next time…
