Albert joins Children In Need appeal

HELLO – welcome to the very latest from ALBERT the tortoise HQ and our friends Hugg n Bugg.

The big REAL Albert news this week – Albert has gone to sleep. He has bedded down for hibernation. That said, he has left a lot of instructions and work carries on around him. Posts will continue on all the social sites, bookshop, library, school and other events continue.

Part of our carrying on sees the publication on FRIDAY OCTOBER 6 of our first ever Activity Book ALBERT PUZZLES AND COLOURING. We are very excited. Play along with Albert and his garden friends to solve puzzles, spot the difference, join the dots, find Albert and identify the animals.. Lots of fun.

We had some super feedback for the book from Children’s blogger Play-To-Learn-With-Katy .. Thank you!

And we had a lovely shout out for the book from Jill Bennett at book blog Red Reading Hub. Thanks all involved.

We’ll be marking publication on October 6 chatting with Tony Snell on BBC Radio Merseyside… we’ll also be chatting about our events at Bootle Children’s Literary Festival on November 1.

We will also be appearing at Waterstone’s Maidstone on Friday October 6 – from 3pm with our ALBERT and Hugg n Bugg picturebooks storytime.

We’ve been out and about a bit..

We had a fun time at Walthamstow and Lea Bridge libraries marking the end of the summer reading challenge. Thanks to Waltham Forest Libraries and all involved. Please try to support your local libraries. Great assets.

We visited Waterstone’s Bluwater in Kent to sign a stack of Hugg n Bugg and Albert books. Thanks to the bookseller team.

We had big fun at our local bookshop Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford with a Hugg n Bugg and Albert storytime day. Thanks all involved.

We also had big fun this week bringing storytime to our local church and local Hub run by Food Aid. Thanks to everyone involved there.

We have now confirmed that we will be returning to National Trust Dyffryn Gardens in St Nicholas near Cardiff, Wales on Saturday October 28 for more storytime sessions from 11am.

We had a super Review this week for new Albert picturebook ALBERT AND THE SHED. Please keep posting YOUR Book Reviews for any of our six picturebooks or Board Book Albert and his Friends. Calling the book LOVELY and THOUGHT PROVOKING, we are very happy with this review.

We can also now announce that YOU can help children and grab signed, dedicated Albert picturebooks. We are part of the new BBC Children In Need fund-raiser and have gifted 6 Albert titles to the Children in Read auction. Simply visit the Children In Read site and make your bid for our books.

As we said – lots going on even if real Albert has bedded down for winter. Thank you for all the support.

More soon. Til next time.
