HELLO – It’s ANNIVERSARY or BIRTHDAY time at Albert HQ…
April 27 2023 is the second anniversary of publication of the first ALBERT the tortoise picturebook ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN.
We cannot believe what has happened in the time since.
So. Much.
We cannot thank you all enough for all that you have helped make happen.. supporting the books, following us on facebook, twitter, insta, tiktok and here at the website. Buying the books – and the t shirts and tote bags. Using the colouring sheets .. and the teacher notes.

As you know we now have FOUR books out based on real Albert – ALBERT AND THE WIND, ALBERT SUPERSIZE and ALBERT IN THE AIR. This is a more recent pose…
To mark the anniversary, a suitable celebration had to be held .. and that involved banners, all our books (including our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg), our lookalike Alberts that come with us on school and library visits and events plus, of course – real Albert with a tasty pile of dandelions to mark the occasion.

We have even more cause to celebrate.. Remember we won an award. Voted by schoolchildren.. The Cogan Heroes Picturebook Award.
We had more news about the children designing and crafting trophies to present to us. We are TORTally excited…
We also had more feedback from the Merthyr Tydfil Children’s Literature Festival.
Seems Henry VIII’s six wives LOVED our books. Good to know. And one of the volunteers was very nice about our perseverance to become published. Thanks again to all involved in the Festival.
Currently, we’re in the running for another Award. The Children’s Literature Festival Book Awards. The shortlist of candidates will be announced soon – voted by youngsters at libraries and schools. The event and organisation is backed by Patron – actress Jenny Agutter from hit series Call the Midwife. What a thrill …
