HELLO – more news from ALBERT HQ and lots occurring still.
The weather has not been great and it’s been a poor few days for real Albert since he woke up. But he’s having warm baths and is eating a bit more each day. We just need a bit of sunshine. Don’t we all!
Meanwhile, all sorts of events keeping us on the road and busy.
Delighted to report a grand visit to Our Lady of Hartley School in Longfield, Kent. The pupils had been busy doing their own Albert art – which was fantastic. It was wonderful to talk to them and read our Albert and Hugg n Bugg stories. And to sign a lot of books for young readers in the school’s fab library.
Many thanks indeed to all involved.
We were also thrilled this week to have our picturebook ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN featured on fab children’s youtube channel IVY TV KIDS with Rachel Ivy… A lovely reading from the book. Thank you so much. Check out Rachel’s channel and all other content.
Another small screen delight this week was a keen supporter of our Albert books – actress Vicki Michelle – making her debut appearance on big UK soap EastEnders. Set in fictional ALBERT Square, it’s a case of TWO Alberts for Vicki. Of course, she was tremendous and we are always grateful for her kind praise for Albert Upside Down.
We are still receiving pictures of young readers dressed up as Albert from World Book Day. Please keep those images coming. They are fantastic.
We’re on the road again this week.. On Monday April 3 from 11:30am we are at Waterstone’s bookshop in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Come along if you can. Book reading, book signing, tortoises, yetis, dinosaurs and giveaways…
Then on Tuesday April 4 from 11am we’re at Southwold Books in Southwold, Suffolk. Hope to see you there.
Later this month – on April 20 we will be at Merthyr Tydfil Literary Festival in association with Stephens and George Charitable Trust.
We will be chatting all things Albert, Hugg n Bugg and our events at Merthyr Tydfil on Easter Sunday around 2:10pm with Lorna Prichard on BBC Radio Wales. Can’t wait.
More news from us soon. Thank you for all the support.
Til next time.
