Hello – latest news from Albert HQ with our friends Hugg ‘n’ Bugg.
Busy times continue – thanks to World Book Day and special events all over the country marking the big day.
We’ve been on our travels to schools all over the place and it’s been wonderful to talk about real Albert and to read our picturebooks.
In the run up to Book Day itself on March 2 this year we were delighted to be invited back to Bramingham Primary School in Luton, Bedfordshire. Bramingham was one of the first schools to invite us to read ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN almost two years ago. They made the picturebook a whole school text and when we arrived back then, there were posters, wall charts of Albert everywhere and the pupils had made comic books, stories and projects about Albert. It was wonderful.
Our return was also a great visit. Thanks to everyone involved.
We were then SUPER excited to receive a picture from Bramingham on actual Book Day showing a young reader in a TORTally brilliant Albert costume.
We hope to see many more at other book events.
Next we were off to Beccles in Suffolk to visit lovely Ilketshall School. Massive thanks to everyone there for a wonderful time.
Then we moved on to Old Buckenham Hall school outside Ipswich, Suffolk. A great visit and thanks to all involved there.
We were super thrilled to receive a smashing review in the magazine Best of British for the Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook FINDING HOME.. Thanks to B of B.
Then, continuing our tour of schools, we were off to Mandeville Primary in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire – a visit that was prompted by our storytime event last year at the High Wych scarecrow festival – with the theme of tortoises. It was a delight to visit and speak to the whole school in assembly and then to visit each year in turn. Thank you Mandeville.
Lots more upcoming keeping us busy. We will keep you updated. Watch out for our Bookshop events coming soon too.
More news soon. Til then…
