ALBERT MAKES NEWS

HELLO – welcome to the latest news from Albert the tortoise – and our chums Hugg ‘n’ Bugg…

So much going on..  All vey exciting.

As you know (possibly) we headed North east from Albert HQ to Sunderland in Tyne and Wear to take part in the wonderful Northern Children’s Book Festival. We visited two great schools for Albert and Hugg ‘n’ Bugg storytime, tales of real Albert plus our yeti and dinosaur .. and some giveaways.

BIG thanks to all at Benedict Biscop school and Hill View Infant. And to the Festival organisers and to the local library service who were all wonderful.

As if the events were not amazing enough – we were also invited to take part in a TV news report for itv Tyne Tees news.

A reporter and cameraman joined us at Hill View and filmed!

It was a pleasure to take part in the item looking at the importance of books, libraries and reading in schools.

Amazingly – on our way back to Albert HQ we were invited to take part  in another discussion on a similar subject .. with great Pat Marsh on BBC Radio Kent. Of course, we were delighted to talk once more with Pat.

Then – even more amazing stuff… The lovely Lucy Owen at BBC Wales posted a video to her social media flicking through the pages of Hugg ‘n’ Bugg picturebook FINDING HOME..

Lucy said she loved the book.. and that the illustrations jumped off the page…  Thanks Lucy!!!

We appreciate all the support we receive. Thank you.

Busy times continue..  More radio coming, storytime at a Winter Fayre and then we head back to Halifax with The Thoughtful Spot Bookshop in Skircoat Green to visit more Halifax schools.

More news on all of that soon.. Til next time…
