MULTI MEDIA ALBERT

HELLO – The latest news from Albert the tortoise HQ is here and we are still keeping very busy .. we are pleased to say.

Possibly more than anything, this past week has shown how MULTI MEDIA modern tortoises need to be.. especially if they are trying to set up a brand including picturebooks, T shirts and other product… Let us explain…

For starters it is INDEPENDENT BOOKSHOP WEEK.. a great event that is all about celebrating and supporting the amazing Indie bookshops across the country. We are grateful to so many at Albert HQ for their support of the Albert picturebooks that we can’t possibly mention them all.

Of course, our die-hard fans will know that we have amazing support from two local shops in particular…  Jo’s Bookshop in Chingford and also V and A Books in Highams Park.. both East London. Both brilliant friends to the Albert books..  with signings, storytime readings, window displays and much more. We are very grateful to them.

In recent times we have had great visits to B for Butterfly books in Sale, near Manchester and also Simply Books in Bramhall near Manchester… and Crofton Books in Brockley, South London. On our recent trip to Cornwall schools, we tried to visit Stories by the Sea bookshop in St Ives but unfortunately they had to close due to illness. Hopefully we will get there when we return to Cornwall in the not too distant future.

SUPERSIZE THANKS to all the INDIE BOOKSHOPS out there.. Please do support these great local assets, shop local and get behind them.

Of course, other types of booksellers are out there anbd we can’t ignore them.. so  our tour of branches of Waterstone’s also continues.. We were delighted to get to Barnet in north London to sign a stack of ALBERT SUPERSIZE and ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN… Thanks to Team Barnet… and to all the Waterstones supporting the Albert bookseries.

Also this week, a Podcast run by our publisher Graffeg went live … featuring the Albert writer, wrangler bloke. It’s a long, relaxed interview or chat about how the books came about, about how the writer bloke got into writing and his other work in television. It’s also about amazing illustrator Eoin Clarke. We thank Graffeg for running the Podcast and the host Keiran Manetta-Jones.

Of course, we also still do that old-fashioned Radio stuff .. and our wrangler writer bloke was delighted to chat with Andy Broxton at BBC Radio Shropshire. Not sure when the piece will be broadcast but we will keep you posted righ here and on the Albert social sites.

See?! – Lots occurring and in so many different ways.

More soon from us.. Til next time…
