HELLO – the latest news is here from Albert HQ and it’s been another packed time for us.
Straight to it..
We had a great chat with Simon Parkin at BBC Radio Somerset. We’ve appeared with Simon a few times now and it’s always great fun. It was a catch up and more specifically about the launch of new Albert the tortoise picturebook ALBERT SUPERSIZE. Thanks to Simon and team.
From Somerset we were back to Kent.. and to Bluewater shopping centre.. Not far from Albert’s real home for more than 50 years. We were delighted to sign copies of ALBERT UPSIDE DOWN and ALBERT AND THE WIND ahead of the arrival of ALBERT SUPERSIZE. It will be in store soon and we are booked in to visit to sign a stack of books. More news on that to come. Thanks as always to Mihaela and all the team at Waterstone’s.
Then to Berkshire.. BBC Radio Berkshire, to chat about Albert and ALBERT SUPERSIZE with Bill Buckley, formerly one of the presenters on That’s Life. Thanks to Bill and team. Top chat.
Then to Derby .. BBC Radio Derby, and a recording with Ian Skye. The piece will be broadcast soon. We’ll be updating on this on Albert’s social media… (Do give him a follow on twitter, facebook or on tiktok… You can also follow his wrangler Ian Brown on twitter and insta.)
We were also delighted this week to gift copies of ALBERT SUPERSIZE to our local library. Just in time for publicity to start for our tour of EIGHT libraries throughout Waltham Forest as part of Children’s Book Week.
We will be on tour from May 3 to May 7, visiting libraries to talk about Albert and to read our stories at Highams Park, Walthamstow, Higham Hill, Leyton, Leytonstone, Chingford, Lea Bridge and Wood Street. If you can attend – we’d love to see you there. Please book your spot by visiting Waltham Forest council website Library events page or drop in whatever library for more information.
See? We told you it was busy.. Now we’re gearing up for next week and the return to school visits and more radio… and bookshop visits to sign stacks of Albert picturebooks.
More on all that from us soon. Til next time…
